Welcome to the Seetrax Ranger user group page.
Aimed at providing a forum for Ranger users to exchange views and supply feedback to Seetrax. Over the coming months we intend to enhance this facility with additions including: FREE downloads, Enhancement voting and anything else Ranger that may be of interest.

Seetrax XL Designer
As a taster, below is a sneak preview of XL designer now undergoing extensive field trials prior to release. Using the new GUI a number of different aspects of the design can be opened simultaneously. This is a screen capture from a dual monitor system, where the entire desktop is spread across two large screens.

Fed up with only 15 odd looking drill symbols. Replace the existing drill symbol font with 26 letters. To install just download ,expand the zip file and copy to:

Jazz up your desktop with 3D RangerXL and Ranger2XL icons, just click on the icon to download. To replace the existing icon: First click on it with the right hand mouse key , select 'properties' , 'shortcut' , 'change icon' and type in the path of the new icon.

Full IPC RangerXL library FREE to download - New improved
(NOTE:Does Not work with Ranger2XL)

ADL are now offering a library of 294 physical IPC standard outlines. Stored as a single RangerXL job dump. The file is free to download and use, without liability. Each shape now includes a description as well as IPC identification number.

13-10-99 Most of these shapes have been done excluding the quad flatpacks. These will be completed as soon as we have some spare time.

28-10-99 PQFP outlines updated to correct an error in the standard. Pin pitch should be 0.635mm and not 0.63mm as stated in IPC-SM-782

08-11-99 All outlines now include description as text on shape with the outline name as the IPC identification. Also MELF outlines have been updated.

We are continuously updating this feature with use and would appreciate any feedback from those who choose to utilise this facility.

15052000- Thank you to all those of you who took the time to vote over the last few months. In all 25 users voted on the twelve possible enhancements, with Blind and buried Vias scoring the highest. As you will all Know by now this, along with multiple via sizes and top and bottom selections in Window has been incorporated in to the software.

A new set of Enhancements have now been posted so keep voting

This section is designed to give RangerXL users the chance to vote on proposed new features. Listed on the next page are fifteen possible enhancements, five related to the schematic, eight to artwork and two to other aspects of the system. Each enhancement has a score of ONE to TEN, with TEN being the highest. Just set the score for each feature in the order you feel is the most important. Once done select submit and your voting slip will be mailed automatically to Seetrax.
After a period of two months the scores will be added up and the feature that score the highest will be incorporated into the next release. The whole process will then be repeated with the remaining enhancements plus a some new ones. Please note you can if you wish give more than one feature a score of ten but remember that if you give all the features a score of ten nothing will stand out as important. You can also vote as many times as you like , its your phone bill !
There is also a space for one suggested enhancement. This is optional but if included and enough people ask for the same feature will be added to the main voting list for the following month.
